Cars Game For A Younger Audience
By Joan Kickosawa
Cars the movie was a fun and frolicking children’s movie that
seemed like a sure bet to inspire video games of the same premise.
The Cars game for the Nintendo Wii console has a few rough edges,
but overall, it’s a challenging game for the audience it was designed
for; the younger gaming crowd.
The game is set in the dusty town of Radiator Springs and features
courses in the desert, as well as cities and mountains. Developers
designed the core of the game to appeal to the youngest video
game enthusiast, so hard core racing game fans won’t see much
good here.
Jump Your Car And Multiplayer Features
Circuits range from informal street contests to oval-track challenges.
Either way, with a little fine tuning of your skills, you can
be the speediest car on the field. You’ll be weaving through traffic
to finish in first place in no time.
Using the Wii controller for the cars game is more intuitive
than in other similar racing games, though the main reason behind
that, is because it sacrifices so much speed. The action in this
game is still thrilling enough that the loss of speed won’t be
too much of a bother. You also get the ability to jump your car
by popping up the remote, and that’s a really nice touch they’ve
added.
Multiplayer mode has only decent game play; it’s pretty average
among racing games. It’s true that without a story tying the concepts
together and an open world to blow the doors off, race courses
just start to blend together over time. A few more creative matches
that take advantage of the bigger worlds would have been nice
for the Wii format.
Targeted To A Younger Audience
The Wii Cars game does do a lot right. First, it looks good and
it’s upbeat and clever. It is well-balanced for its target audience;
younger children. It’s a shame that the Wii controller just doesn’t
add much to a game that’s already come out on other platforms.
In fact, the controller actually brings down the overall game
experience in some areas. It is no wonder that the Nintendo Wii
is the last console to get the Cars series because that is the
place it finishes in overall gamer satisfaction as well.

Did You Know This About Wii Games?
It can be difficult trying to decide which of the Wii car games
you want to buy. There are many to choose from and you do not
want to shell out $50.00 on one that you may hate.
The best solution is to find a discount store online or rent
them. If your local movie rental store does not carry Wii racing
games, you may want to try renting online. You never have to worry
about a late fee and you can keep it for as long as you want for
a low monthly price.
