Customer Support Options With CRM Software
By Dirk C Wallace
Many new business owners underestimate the difficulty of starting
up an enterprise, organizing data, planning marketing strategies
and managing customer support. How can you find those best customers
who are most likely to buy? Furthermore, how can you reach these
customers through targeted marketing campaigns?
How can you ensure customer contentment and keep buyers coming
back for more products? How can you provide the best level of
customer service to the top buyers and inspire that coveted word-of-mouth
marketing?
Automating Customer Service Responses
Is there an easier way to automate customer service responses
until your help desk team gets around to the emails or calls?
How can you ensure sharing between sales and marketing teams?
The answer may just be in CRM (customer relationship management)
software!
Today’s consumer is more demanding: he or she wants greater personalization,
customizable products and businesses who understand what the individual
desires. The main use for CRM software is to organize all the
data associated with a particular client. A marketing team rep
may run into a consumer while running a street promotion and handing
out free products.
Creating A Customer Database
To get the free giveaway, the consumer answers a series of five
questions and fills in his contact information on a PDA. This
information gets sent into the CRM systems database, where the
sales team can then analyze the answers to determine which products
or services would best suit this customer’s individual needs.
The answers would also be sent to the product development team
so they can decide what features consumers like best or least
to create a better experience.
Customer History Available To Support Staff
After the consumer purchases the product, he may call up customer
support for tech help and the call center staff will be able to
pull up that person’s history -- what he bought, when he bought
it, where he bought it and whether he’s made any previous troubleshooting
calls.
This saves time and aggravation for both the staff and the consumer,
which in turn creates better customer satisfaction. Customer support
can be complicated when more than one person is dealing with a
client.
Answering Customer Queries Effectively
You may have a consumer who initially emails to troubleshoot
their new digital camera, for instance. He writes to ask why fuzzy
purple lines suddenly appeared across the display screen.
Perhaps you wrote back asking when and where the product was
purchased. Then someone else might receive the next email and
feel lost about the situation. The customer may then feel impatient
and call tech service help, who will ask "Where and when
did you purchase the camera?" In this scenario, it can feel
like a customer is going around in circles, with no one who is
competent to answer his questions.
Instead, a CRM solution would allow your business to log an entire
consumer profile from the moment he first became acquainted with
the company throughout his future purchases and full interaction
history. So at a moment’s notice, tech support, marketing, sales
and retail can all access the same information to improve customer
fulfillment.
Free Customer Support With CRM Programs
With most CRM solutions, you’ll find something lacking. An application
may excel in sales force automation but falter in forecasting,
for instance. Or the set-up may be inexpensive, but the help desk
support may be lacking. Even so, for micro-businesses with less
than 100 employees, the free customer support CRM programs offer,
can sometimes work out just fine.
In fact, estimates show that 15,000 companies are using free
remotely-hosted CRM on demand for their customer relationship
management. Free CRM features include: 128 bit SSL encryption,
10 MB of storage, hourly backed-up data with nightly off-site
storage, contact and lead management, SFA, shared calendars, email,
task tracking, call automation, document sharing, reporting and
a customizable knowledge base.
