Linksys WRT160N Ultra RangePlus Wireless-N Broadband Router Eliminates Dead Spots With Wider Coverage
By Joan Kickosawa
Ah, the good old days of first generation wireless routers. They
did allow you to have freedom where your workstation or laptop
was placed but the limitations were many. If you left the room
where the wireless router was located, you had to contend with
doors and walls interfering with your signal.
The loss of signal meant that data transferring was slowed down
incredibly. It also meant that you could lose signal altogether
depending on how far from the router you went. Thankfully, wireless
routers have changed and the Linksys WRT160N Ultra RangePlus Wireless-N
Broadband Router is a prime example of today’s wireless routers
and their ability to cover your area fully.
Stands Out As A Better Wireless Router With MIMO technology
The Linksys WRT160N Ultra RangePlus Wireless-N Broadband Router
has a technology that makes it stand out among the wireless router
crowd. Other wireless routers can often be confused by signal
reflections. As the wireless router is receiving a signal, it
will often interfere with the signal it is trying to send out.
When this occurs the speed of connection will be slowed down as
the wireless router tries to prioritize the signals.
But with the Ultra RangePlus there is a layering of multiple
radio signals. It is called MIMO technology which stands for "Multiple
In, Multiple Out." MIMO technology in the Ultra RangePlus
words by using the reflections.
No More Dead Spots
It uses them in a way so that the wireless router increases its
range and stops all of those pesky "dead spots" where
you might not have had coverage before. When compared to a wireless
modem that is still operating on Wireless-G technology, you can
have a wireless router that is much farther away from your computer
than ever before. And rather than it slowing down, Wireless-N
technology actually gives you more speed.
The Ultra RangePlus does still work with Wireless-G and -B technology
but if you have both ends connected to a Wireless-N, then you
have a super fast network that is blazing fast. The downside to
this product is the price.
With so many wireless routers now selling for beneath $50.00,
you often find people going with the cheaper routers and sacrificing
speed. The suggested retail price of the Ultra RangePlus is $99.99
but if you go to Amazon.com you can find it for $79.99.
Dispose Your Old Wireless Router
If you are still dealing with first generation wireless routers,
or wireless routers that limit your area of coverage to the immediate
vicinity, then it is time to throw it in the trash. You will not
have that trouble with the Linksys WRT160N Ultra RangePlus Wireless-N
Broadband Router.
You get the satisfaction of being able to move where you need
move and have the connection you need. Speed is no problem with
this wireless router and at $79.99, you cannot beat the price.

Did You Know This?
Have you ever seen a recipe on the internet and then tried to
cook it? Chances are you had to run back to your computer to take
another look at the recipe to make sure everything was just right.
Well if your laptop has a wireless card and you had a wireless
router, you would not have to be running back and forth. You could
take your laptop into the kitchen with you and still receive a
great signal. Wireless routers are easy to set up and most are
very affordable.
