Upgrade Your Mac Memory
By Calista Joyner
Even Apple's Mac computer is going to need a RAM upgrade sometime
or another. As new technology is introduced, older models become
outdated in terms of processing speed and memory storage.
Your Mac memory is not difficult to upgrade and with the right
tools and knowledge you can perform the upgrade yourself and save
some money by doing so.
Apple Memory
Just remember that Apple memory is going to be different than
PC memory on a Compaq or Dell, so you have to take into account
that you may not be able to use a generic memory board or module
in your computer.
There is a website that you can visit if you want to know how
to upgrade your Mac memory. It is www.crucial.com/mac/index.aspx.
Now, before you go and begin trying to pick out new memory cards,
you will need to know some information and this website can do
just that.
Know Model And Series Of Your Apple Mac
You will need to know what type of model and series your Apple
is and you will need to know how many slots and modules are currently
in use.
If you do not know the model or series type you can use their
Scan My System function which tells you exactly what is installed
on your system. Consumer electronics are not hard to figure out
if you have some place to start.
Once you have your Apple memory options up on the screen, you
will then be able to see if they have the computer memory modules
that work best for your system.

Support With Live Chat
If you run into trouble and are stuck trying to find what you
want, then they do offer a support staff and Live Chat to help
you decide what you need. The help computer hardware questions
on the page can also answer any potential questions you may have
about upgrading your Mac's memory.
As mentioned above, you have to know a little bit about how your
computer operates in order to make your computer run faster. Once
you have the information you need, do yourself a favor for next
time and write it down. It will save you time and effort later
down the road.
If you have exhausted your help sections and are still having
trouble, then you may want to consider taking your Apple into
a computer repair shop for the Mac memory upgrade. They can do
it rather quickly and it will not be very costly.

Did You Know This About Computers?
How can I tell how much RAM I have on my PC computer?
If you do not automatically know…what is wrong
with you? That is a joke of course. Most people do not know the technical
aspects of their computer right off hand. Most never need to know as
long as it is working correctly but there is a way to find out very
quickly.
Simply find the My Computer or Computer icon on your desktop
and right click once. A window will pop up, scroll to the bottom
where it reads "Properties." Left click on Properties
and a window will pop up with all of your technical information.
You can look under "System" to find your processor speed
and your memory.
What are the types of computer memory storage?
There are four different types of memory
storage that you should know about. These four types of memory
storage are: Primary storage, Secondary storage, Tertiary
storage and Off-line storage. Each one may save information
but it will be to a different location and will be a
different method of storing the information.
