Marketing Affiliate Programs To Earn Money Online
By Calista Joyner
As you approach the various marketing affiliate programs with
an eye to joining one of them, you may be thinking that all you
wish to do is dabble, or you might want to plunge into the business
as though it were your full-time work.
Whichever approach you wish to take, it’s wise if you review
your options and become familiar with the different types of affiliate
networks that exist, so you can make the choice that best suits
your temperament, time and commitment levels.
Marketing Amazon Products
Many people are familiar with marketing affiliate programs without
quite realizing it, if they have ever joined a program at www.amazon.com
and put links to Amazon products on their websites.
But while Amazon was a very early pioneer, there are now many
more sites that have entered the affiliate marketing business,
allowing people to join as their partners and gain a tiny commission
for any sale coming from a link they post on their site.
Powell’s Books (www.powells.com)
is another example of a book site with such a program, but many
other industries have also discovered affiliate marketing.
Affiliates Finding Products On ClickBank
However, another site that’s been doing affiliate marketing
programs for almost as long as Amazon is www.clickbank.com.
The company recognized the potential of affiliate marketing early
on, and for ClickBank, these marketing affiliate programs are
pretty much all the company does.
The site brings together three groups: vendors who have products
to sell, people who want to buy the products, and affiliate marketers
who take those products and promote them on their own websites.
ClickBank Acts As The Go-Between
The vendor works out the price and commission with ClickBank,
and as sales are made, payments are divided between the vendor,
ClickBank, and the affiliate. ClickBank is the go-between for
everyone.
There are other marketing affiliate programs with a more hands-on
attitude, where the affiliate manager makes deals with clients
to host ad campaigns for them, and assigns the campaigns to particular
affiliates.
Choosing Better Affiliate Programs
The manager then supervises how the affiliate promotes the products,
to make sure they are receiving click-throughs from their websites,
with resulting sales. This type of program is for those who are
very committed, and not all of those who apply to join such a
program are accepted.
So you will want to choose your program based on your own commitment
and interest level.

Did You Know This About Affiliate Marketing?
How does affiliate marketing work?
Affiliate marketing works pretty simply.
It starts out with you owning a blog or website. You then find
affiliate programs that work with your website. For example: if
you had a website and blog devoted to babies and child care, you
would want to find affiliate programs for items that related to
that topic.
It could be an affiliate company that sells
baby safety products or it could be a link to a baby book. Once
you have joined the affiliate company you can then put that ad,
banner or link on your webpage. Each time someone clicks it you
can get money or you get money if a sale is made.
