Microsoft Software Training To Improve Your Career Prospects

By Dirk C Wallace

People with Microsoft software training certification prove to employers that they have the technical skills to succeed. Those who complete these computer training courses demonstrate that they are active learners with a penchant for advancement.

Home and office workers will benefit from Excel training or MS Word training, which provides shortcuts and practical solutions to make work run more efficiently. Advanced IT professionals can become a Technology or Solutions Architect once they possess their certification.

Microsoft Software Training Classifications

There are five series in the Microsoft group of software training classifications: Desktop Support, Technology, Professional, Master and Architect. The Desktop Series offers certification as a Microsoft Certified Application Specialist (MCAS) or a Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS).

This will demonstrate to employers that you have a mastery of Microsoft Office 2007 and Windows Vista. The Technology Series allows you to become a Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS), which showcases your ability to build, troubleshoot, debug and implement a Windows server, Microsoft .NET framework or Microsoft SQL server.

Become A Microsoft Certified IT Professional

With the Professional Series, you can become a Microsoft Certified IT Professional or a Microsoft Certified Professional Developer, which showcases project management, system design, operations system or planning expertise. A Microsoft Certified Master (Master Series) is someone with in-depth knowledge of designing, implementing and troubleshooting servers, and fixing complex business challenges.

Lastly, the MCA Technology or MCA Infrastructure designations are offered to certified professionals who have more than five years of experience in their field, in addition to their computer training courses.

Getting Better Jobs When You Graduate

Graduates of the Microsoft software training program have gone on to attain a number of desirable positions. Jonathan Embury became a Certified Database Administrator for dotNET solutions in Canberra, Australia. Patrick Birch became a Certified Solutions Developer at Macro Enterprises in Houston, Texas. Darwin Fisk Jr. became a Certified Application Developer for his own company Dot NET Designs in Phoenix, Arizona.

David Rigney became a Certified Systems Engineer for Momentum in New Orleans, Louisiana. Richard Hubbard became a Certified Trainer (in addition to a Database Administrator and Systems Engineer) at the New Horizons Computer Learning Center in Buffalo, New York. As you can see, software computer training throws open the doors of opportunity!

Become A Microsoft Trainer

"I knew I had good knowledge of IT, but I needed a way to prove that knowledge to potential employers," Microsoft software training graduate Jamie Barry explained. "I also wanted to expand on what I already knew. That was my motivation to pursue certification." He started out taking a class to prepare for his Microsoft Windows 2000 class but was promptly offered a job from IT Base Ltd as a Microsoft trainer.

He added, "Becoming certified on Windows 2000 really helped turn things around for me. It’s a true measure of your skill, of what you know, it’s not just a ’paper’ certification."
