Microsoft Windows Vista And The Next Windows Operating System
By Joel Wannamaker
One of the more popular, if not technical, definitions of Microsoft
Windows Vista is that it is was the current version of Windows
for clients. It was released in late 2006 for businesses with
the Windows Vista Business edition, early 2007 for consumers with
Windows Vista Home, Windows Vista Home Premium and Windows Vista
Ultimate, and the next version for servers came out in 2007 as
well.
With this new Vista operating system, Microsoft added several
new and improved features, such as advanced multimedia capabilities.
They also included Trustworthy Computing (Palladium), which is
a special chip on the motherboard that provides many security
solutions, such as data encryption and user authentication.
Unfortunately, Microsoft Vista reminds most users of Windows
ME, the short-lived operating system. Windows XP enjoys the longest
lifespan in the history of the Windows operating systems.
Windows Vista Maybe A Testing For The Windows Operating System
Perhaps Vista is just a testing ground for a newer generation
of Windows 7, and because the breakthrough technology and commitment
is so huge, Microsoft needs to use this operating system to review
their options by gathering requirements, feedback and perhaps
resources for the next generation.
Recently, Vista SP1 came out, but what about SP2? Will there
be one or is Windows 7 replacing everything? A few of the early
reports stated that Windows 7 seems to be incorporating many of
the new features that originated in Microsoft Windows Vista.
With all of the "glitches" being reported in Windows
Vista reviews, you can probably expect Windows 7 will be coming
soon. It is like all of the XP users were hungering for a new
version, but after installing Vista they were very disappointed.
Even a Vista service pack cannot fix that.
Stability May Be A Priority For The Next Version
Of course, it could always backfire and Windows 7 may simply
be 100 times more complicated that Windows 95 and 10 times less
efficient than Windows XP. Despite the fact that Microsoft Windows
Vista is playing an important part in the creation of Windows
7, perhaps stability will be a priority for the next version.
But, if you are looking for a little light at the end of the
tunnel, then keep in mind that Vista also played a part in training
software developers to make their software more compatible. Perhaps
it was a brilliant strategy all along; pre-launch a test operating
system, gather all the information and resources to continue development
and pass the data along to the software developers.

Give Me Just The Windows Software Facts.....
Many times a person buys a computer and never bothers to update
the operating system because they do not want to take a chance
on something they do not know.
Windows Vista has had its fair share of naysayer's because people
simply did not want to lose the system they had become most familiar
with.
But that is not giving Vistas its chance to shine. This system
can do everything your old system can do plus much, much more.
