MySpace Profile Computer Software Web Tips Guide
Customize Your MySpace Profile
By Christine Wales
To begin editing your Myspace profile, you’ll need to login
and click on "Profile" and "Edit Profile"
on the top menu bar. You can review your options and fill in the
basics for interests & personality, name, background &
lifestyle, schools, companies, networking or add song and video.
If you’d like a more elaborate background, then you can click
on the "Profile Editor" tab to the right or you can
check a third party site like www.pimp-my-profile.com
for pre-made layouts and backgrounds. Believe it or not, the actual
Myspace add-ons the site offers are pretty lame, so most people
go to other sites, grab the Myspace codes they need and return
with cooler options.
Finding A Custom Background
To get a custom background, you can check out www.pimp-my-profile.com,
www.myspacegens.com,
or another site found by typing "Myspace layout"/"Myspace
Background" into a search engine, such as Google. The easiest
option is to find a suitable pre-made layout, where all you need
to do is highlight the layout’s code, press CTRL-C to cut, go
back to your Myspace editor and hit CTRL-V to paste the code into
the "About Me" section of your profile.
Some sites even allow you to enter your Myspace login info and
they add the codes for you! However, this could jeopardize your
site’s security so it is not recommended. If you do use this method,
then be sure to change your password afterwards. The web pros
may want to try their hand at designing a more customized profile,
selecting the border, colors, text, section, spacing and more.
Adding YouTube Videos To Your Page
Many people like to add their favorite videos to a Myspace profile.
YouTube now has a button that says "YouTube on your site"
which helps you easily get the videos on your page. It’s actually
very easy to do. While your watching your video, click on "View
more" beneath the description. There you will see a code
with the word "<embed>" in it; use that one.
Cut the code from YouTube and paste into your Myspace profile
editor, anywhere you choose, although movies and TV are obvious
sections, and voila! You’ve got a video on your page! You can
also use this method to paste movie clips into people’s comments
section or emails. When editing your site, be careful not to bog
your page down with too many movie clips or it will take so long
to load your friends won’t even visit your profile anymore.
Hiding Personal Details
Lastly, you may find you want to hide certain things on your
Myspace profile. The last thing you want your parents to know
is who you have a crush on, or perhaps you don’t want everyone
knowing what city you live in or how old you are. Come to think
of it, your ex-boyfriend or ex-girlfriend doesn’t need to view
your top friends and comments to snoop and see who you’re dating
now!
You can find comprehensive Myspace codes, tutorials on www.myspacegens.com
that will inform you how to hide your age, sex, location, comments,
links, blogs, url, friends, last login and more. Or, if you prefer,
www.kawaiispace.com
has an easy-to-use "Hide Profile Sections" generator.
Keeping your information private online is not a challenge if
you have the right tools.

Did You Know This About MySpace?
Who created MySpace?
Most people think that Tom is the creator
of the website but they would be wrong. Yes, he is the first friend
that you get when you create an account and yes, he posts bulletins
and announcements.
But in actuality there was a whole team
behind the creation of this social networking site. It all stems
from eUniverse.
The founder and CEO of eUniverse, Brad
Greenspan, along with Tom Anderson (the aforementioned Tom), Josh
Berman, Chris DeWolfe and a host of other programmers all had
a huge hand in the start up.
Other websites faced the problems of hosting,
infrastructure and a variety of other start-up website problems.
But these founders did not.
They were already very familiar with websites
and already had a top team in place to handle the miscellaneous
needs that would arise.
