Many people enjoy surfing websites for many reasons. Some people
surf the web strictly for enjoyment purposes, while others conduct
business online. No matter the reason, many normally do not want
to be bothered with annoyances while they are looking for information.
One of the biggest irritations on the web can come from a new
window opening up that contains an unwanted advertisement. Depending
on the website, there may be several different pop ups throughout
the pages, which means that the web surfer has to close another
window every time they navigate from one section of the site to
another.
Irritating Popups Annoying Web Surfers
If new popups are occurring every few seconds, then this is not
only irritating, but it can also cause website surfers to not
want to visit that particular website again. This can be bad news
for website marketers.
The reason why popup ads are on the website in the first place
is to grab the attention of website visitors, with the hope that
they will purchase the displayed product or service. However,
very few people purchase anything when they are irritated with
a bombardment of annoying advertisements.
Malware And Viruses Derived From Popups
Many computers are infected with both malware and viruses that
come from popups. The new window that opens looks innocent enough,
displaying an ad for a product or service or asking the customer
not to leave the site before they have checked out all of the
information.
However, these various popups may actually contain programs intended
to gain information from your computer or to cause serious damage.
If the user does not click the popup, most often, nothing will
happen. However, many times the user will click on the ad in order
to attempt to remove it from the screen, which will then allow
the application to download onto their computer.
Easy To Stop Popups With A Popup Blocker
Most people vehemently dislike popups that continually open in
a new window on their computer screen. They abhor the fact that
they have to close the windows continually, plus they normally
just do not want to be bothered with the whole process. Luckily,
there are many different programs available to stop popups.
If there are ever times when specific popups are wanted or necessary,
then the user can review their options and turn off their popup
blocker, so that they can once again view the popup images. Once
they are finished, they may simply turn it back on, so that further
popups will be blocked.
