Phone Numbers And Listing Information Online

By Dirk C Wallace

Do you ever get mysterious phone numbers appearing on your caller ID? It could be a creditor, an ex-lover or someone else you don't wish to speak to. There is only one way to know for sure: www.anywho.com!

This site will let you type in a phone number and will quickly provide you with the directory listing, whether it's a business or an individual. However, you won't find cell phones at this free listing site.

Cell Phone Details Online

Another site, www.reversephonedetective.com, allows you the ability to look up a cell phone number and gain access to the person's name, address, phone carrier and household members for $14.95. Or, you can gain unlimited lookups for $39.95/year to end the constant wondering.

Google is a good, free place to quickly look up telephone numbers that are listed in business directories. If you received a mysterious call on your home or cell phone, simply type the number into the search window and it will tell you the name, home address, email address and number of the person calling, if it is listed in the phone book or online yellow pages at least. Of course in this day and age, most people can review their options and have traded their home phones for cell phones, which aren't as easily traceable.

Google Is The Quickest Search Engine

A growing number of people fail to update their white pages information too. Yet it is almost instinctive to type an unknown number into Google to see what comes up. If you know the business name and location but need the number, then Google is probably the quickest search available.

If you're in the middle of a divorce battle or you suspect your spouse is cheating, then you may need to look up more than just phone numbers. Hiring a private detective can cost you a huge wad of cash just to find out information you could look up yourself. There is no such thing as a free listing for background information.

Everything For A Fee

You'll probably have to pay a $15 fee to access the information, which someone has to pay to look up for you. However, to satisfy your curiosity and gain court evidence, it's well worth the fee to get your hands on everything from police reports, bankruptcies, liens and property reports to marriages, divorces, births and deaths. It may seem shady, but sometimes you have to be ruthless to win the battle.

Super Pages Online

One of the best places to find phone numbers is www.superpages.com, which acts as the online yellow pages and white pages. By registering, you can customize your own personal address book and save up to fifty contacts. You can also browse local business listings by proximity to your home, work or school.

If you spend most of your time on-the-go, then you can subscribe to Superpages on your cell phone; Blackberry and Java Phone users will get this service free, while Verizon wireless and US Cellular customers may pay a small monthly subscription fee. In addition to gaining access to addresses and telephone numbers, you'll also receive website URLs, video ads, reviews and maps.

Did You Know This About Business Directories?

What is the most common type of business directory?
The most common type of business directory is the one found in your local phone book. But if your business is primarily online, you will need to advertise on the internet to increase your customer base.

The phone book still works great because people are able to find the information that is in the phone book by searching online. There are business directories online that are gaining in popularity. You can visit www.business.com/ and pay to have your business listed.

There are also popular websites that will list your business information for a fee. Another option is to join an affiliate program directory. The affiliate program works by users seeing your information on a website and then clicking on the link which takes the customer to your website.
