website visitor to download software or a program to the hard
drive of their computer. The popup may actually not be in the
form of a popup advertisement, but may be a pop up window that

These types of popups are normally in the form of some type of
security warning. The website visitor may actually believe that
this popup is part of an application that the website needs to
run in order for a process to be completed.

Spyware programs can be developed that will capture many different

are meant to find and retrieve information, such as credit card
information, so that the card numbers can be stolen and used.

whether intended to maliciously harm the user or not, is sent
back to the parent company that developed the malware or the thief
that has set it up for use.

does not bring up a pop up window, but downloads automatically

when a user requests a certain application, such as file sharing.
This is one way that a company can gather targeted marketing information.
A popup blocker is used to stop popups before they hit the computer
screen, while spyware removal systems are used to take spyware
off a person’s computer. After this statement, one might think
that a popup download could be removed with a simple popup blocker,
yet this is not the case.
Spyware Can Steal Your Personal Information
A program that will eliminate it from the computer completely
will be needed. Spyware can be used to gather general information
from a computer, such as information about the web activities
of computer users.
Other types can be used to review, gather and steal bank account
and credit card information, making this the most dangerous type
of malware out there. For this reason, having access to a good
